December Digest

Our next Newsletter will be coming to you in January 2022, so we are bringing this digest to you of the most timely news!

Today is Giving Tuesday!

Neighbors, please do take the time to explore local non-profits that contribute to addressing social, economic, and other needs in our community.  There are many worthwhile organizations to donate to today, and often, there is a match available on Giving Tuesday.  Do choose one that “speaks” to your heart.

Today, we are highlighting one fundraiser, because it benefits the Ginter Park Elementary School Library.

Ms. Logan Muzik is the new Librarian at Ginter Park Elementary School following a 2-year period when GPES had no Librarian. Ms. Muzik, who attended Richmond public schools, has been an elementary school teacher in Richmond for years. She is passionate about literacy and promoting love of reading in students. Please take a look at her fundraising project and consider donating if you are able. DonorsChoose works exclusively with teachers on fundraising projects.  Here’s the link!

GPRA Board 2022 Elected!

We thank all of you who attended the 2021 Annual Membership Meeting and Board Election.  It was good to see so many neighbors in attendance! We thank the 2021 Board, Committee Chairs, District Representatives, Block Captains and all volunteers for their service to our community.  We cannot fulfill our mission without dedicated, skilled and giving volunteers! The new Board will meet Wednesday, December 8, 6:30 to 8:00 pm, St. Paul’s Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, corner of Chamberlayne Avenue and Rennie, adjacent to the rear parking lot, to discuss goals for 2022.
